Cycling Legends – Tom Simpson
13 July, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm£4
Talk and Book Signing
Presented by Chris Sidwells
Tom Simpson is still considered by many to be the greatest all-round British racing cyclist to date. Remembered by many for his untimely and tragic death on Mont Ventoux in 1967, Simpson was the first Britain to wear the Maillot Jaune of the Tour de France and also held the coveted rainbow jersey of the World Professional Road Race Champion.
This talk is presented on the 52nd anniversary of Tom’s death. Chris Sidwells, who is Tom’s nephew, will be bringing some great Simpson paraphernalia, including his bike and World Champions jersey. You’ll also get chance to meet the author and buy a signed copy of his Tom Simpson book. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about one of the greats, on a truly poignant date.
The talk is based upstairs at Beerwolf – fantastic beer but limited space. Only 40 tickets available and some places will be standing (the upside being easier bar access!)
